A contemporary white painted and stainless steel kitchen and dining space in South London for a design conscious family.
The new kitchen is within a property bought through The Modern House set within the Great Brownings Estate, and we worked closely with our clients to completely remodel the space to create a refined, timeless kitchen which closely echoes the values of the building and wider estate.

MA-KON are unique in that they are headed by a pair of architectural designers (Darren and Adam), so their approach is extremely considered and not your average kitchen renovation. They understand the use of space in relation to the rest of the house, design concepts, importance of natural light, and have a general awareness of respecting the period of the property so your kitchen design won't be incongruent, something that was really important to me. I would also say trusting Ma-kon with their own vision definitely won't disappoint.
We were mostly working with Darren throughout the project. He was patient, kind, open to suggestion but we also felt we could entrust him to deliver what we wanted - he just had that intuition without us having to explain ourselves. He really went above and beyond for us and he was always so attentive, making the process itself enjoyable and not just the end product. When it came to installing the kitchen, I had never seen such organised, clean and considerate carpentry/installers.

The design and layout is purposefully simple to retain the important connection out to the leafy garden and incorporates a recessive, white storage wall with a functional stainless steel island and worktops which punctuate the space.
We worked with our clients to remodel the kitchen which includes an integrated window seat and storage cabinets to perch at whilst watching someone cook or to enjoy a quiet coffee.
The kitchen space is light and bright with a material palette with white painted and stainless steel kitchen joinery with polished concrete screed flooring and simple fixtures and fittings.
